Creating a clearer visual system for a foundation shaping the future of media

Client: Media Industry Research Foundation of Finland
(Media-alan tutkimussäätiö)
Scope: Visual identity refresh, creative and photography direction, content and presentation templates, brand guidelines, website front-page design

The Media Industry Research Foundation of Finland supports research, development and innovation across the Finnish media industry.

Tuomi Designs refreshed the foundation’s visual identity and created a more flexible visual system for its communications. The goal was to reflect the foundation’s credible and forward-looking role while helping different content areas appear distinctive and recognisable across channels.

CHALLENGE

The foundation needed to modernise its visual identity and expand the existing brand toolkit. The renewed system had to support a wide variety of content while maintaining a clear, professional and consistent overall identity.

APPROACH & RESULT

We developed a future-facing visual direction combining a vibrant colour palette, modern typography, custom iconography and clear photography principles. Topic-specific templates were created for social media, presentations and other recurring content, supported by comprehensive brand guidelines and a new website front-page design.

The result is a distinctive but practical visual system that helps the internal team communicate consistently while giving different topics and content formats their own recognisable expression.
